I have no faith in the Federal government's ability to improve our nation's educational system.  That job is properly performed by local governments.  But the No-Child-Left-Behind Act appears to be accomplishing its goals.  Unfortunately, none of these goals seem to indicate an improving education system.  Particularly laughable is the fact that 65 percent of the schools are on track to have every student at grade level in reading and math by the 2013-2014 school year.  What's wrong with the other 35 percent? Are they waiting until 2020?   Also laughable is the fact that no schools appear to be making a realistic effort to ensure that teachers are highly qualified.  Looking on the bright side, the report does note that "school leaders are focusing less on forms and funding and more on getting students up to grade level."  I still have no faith, but at least educators seem to be moving in the right direction.
